Alan Hall

Alan is a Special Counsel in the Riyadh office of leading regional law firm Al Tamimi & Company and is a member of the firm’s Property Department. Alan has over 30 years experience as a solicitor including more than 20 years as a partner of one of Australian's largest national firms. During that time he has practised in property development, town planning and environmental law. Alan also has a broad range of corporate and commercial experience, but with an emphasis on real estate and infrastructure. Alan has advised some of the largest Australian corporations and government departments in relation to project delivery for infrastructure such as ports, airports and roads and property development (including regulatory approvals, purchases, sales, leasing and due diligence).

Dr Aly Khorshid

Dr Khorshid has been involved with financial institutions for over 2 decades with comprehensive skills and knowledge in Islamic finance, CEO of Islamic finance with Elite Horizon economic consultancy, his role includes Structuring, Endorsing and advising on Shariah complaint products with particular experience in Capital and stock market products, He is experienced in conduct comprehensive Due-diligences on financial institutions to identify potential investment opportunities.
Dr Khorshid has PhD on Islamic studies and economics from the University of Leeds (UK), studied Fiqh and Shariah at Al-Azhar University (Egypt), Master degree in managements (UK). His Publications includes, Islamic Insurance “A modern Approach to Islamic Banking”, and the Encyclopaedia of Islamic finance, He also has many articles published on Islamic finance.
Dr Khorshid is a trustee member of Academy UK International, member of the institute of management consultancy (UK), and visiting lecturer in El-Azhar University ”Egypt” and ‘SOAS’ University of London on Islamic finance. He is a regular speaker on Islamic finance issues at conferences and TV.

Jurgen E. Herre
Head, Hines Middle East and North Africa

Jurgen joined Hines in 2000. He is head of the Hines MENA region (Middle East / North Africa). As such, he is responsible for all real estate activities including Developments, Property Management and Asset Management for Hines within the region. He has 20 years experience in the International Real Estate business, in Europe, the United States and the MENA region.
Prior to relocating to Abu Dhabi, Jurgen was a Managing Director of Hines Europe based in London. Hines Europe has built, leased and sold projects totalling approximately 2.4 million square metres so far which equates to approximately US$ 18 billion in total project costs.
Jurgen is also a member of the Hines Capital Markets Group, Houston. Within this group, he is responsible for structuring commingled funds and raising equity capital for the worldwide Hines Programs. In addition, he is involved in project dispositions and one off equity financings worldwide.
He is a registered representative of Hines Real Estate Securities, Inc., an affiliate to Hines that is registered as a broker dealer, and is also registered as a “foreign associate” under the NASD rules.

Combining a sense of enterprise with creative energy, Veronica Mendieta is a visionary industrialist; a brilliant business woman who prides herself on her dedication to professionalism, as well as to philanthropic endeavors. Everything in her business and personal lives underscores a strong level of leadership, authenticity, and determination.
Veronica entered the business arena early in life. At 19, she served as the right hand of the President of Coca Cola Co. in Ecuador. Her efforts helped the company grow on a national level. At age 22, Veronica received her Master’s Degree in Marketing with Minors in Media Production, International Relations, and Business Communications from The Brazilian University, Sao Paulo, Brazil; she went on to receive the title of Diplomat in International Relations from Catholic University at Guayaquil, Ecuador as a requisite for her role as overseer of international governmental relations, and administrative aide to Jaime Aguilera, then President of Ecuador. Subsequent years saw her continue expanding her skills in business, sales, and trade in Spain, Lebanon, and the United States.
