01/06/2010 - Cityscape Jeddah 2010 set for June 7 opening |
Final preparations are being made for the opening of the 2010 edition of Cityscape Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s leading real estate investment and development event, which will run from June 7 to 9, 2010 at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events. More than 100 local and regional property investors, developers and service providers are set to exhibit at the event, which will occupy 10,000 sqm of prime exhibition space. |

Several projects are either currently underway or in advanced stages of planning to achieve an optimal balance among the infrastructure components of Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ‘Gateway City.’ Local government is implementing a comprehensive 20-year re-development programme involving initiatives such as the enhancement of the Khozama and Ruwais areas and the rehabilitation of the city’s central and historic districts. Many of the new developments are mega projects such as the SAR 99.75 billion King Abdullah Economic City and the SAR 42 billion Jeddah Hills. |

The upcoming set of legislation will especially boost the under-served low- and middle-income markets by clearly outlining mortgage policies and introducing more mortgage options as well as allowing banks to further diversify their portfolios by engaging in property investments. |
